It’s Week 7 of quarantine here in Michigan and while I am eagerly awaiting the day when this “Stay At Home” order is lifted, I can’t help but feel grateful for this slower-paced season that has been forced upon us.
With all of the schools currently shut-down due to the pandemic, we’ve had more help than usual on the small dairy farm where I work- which means I’ve had more free time lately.
And while I’m doing my best to stay productive, I’m also using this time to indulge my creative side just a bit.
For me, one of my favorite simple pleasures is enjoying a steaming cup of coffee while catching up on my favorite blogs.
There’s something so calming about sitting down and getting lost in the stories that are shared by some truly incredible women. I always find myself so inspired once I’m through.
And so today, I thought I would take a break from my regular content and share some of my favorite feel-good blogs + accounts to follow in hopes that they will leave you feeling inspired and hopeful too.

Five Mary’s Farm:
I’ve only just recently discovered Mary and her family, but I LOVE how they share a behind-the-scenes look into ranch life.
I have nothing but respect for all the hard work they put into raising their pastured cattle, lambs and pigs; and I’ve fallen in love with some of the more creative projects that Mary shares on her blog– like the renovation of her cozy 700 square ft. ranch house or her crazy-delicious recipes!
What truly makes Five Mary’s Farm so fun to follow is that it’s one of the rare accounts that leaves you feeling content with having less. There’s something so encouraging about living a simple, down-home kind of life.
Floret Flower Farm:
Perhaps one of the most beautiful blogs that I’ve come across in a long time. I stumbled upon the Floret blog while scrolling Pinterest- and now, I’m hooked!
She has published two stunning books (Cut Flower Garden & A Year In Flowers ) that offer great insight for starting a cut-flower garden. I used this information to create my very own backyard oasis of flowers last summer.
Again, this is another account that inspires me to live a more simple, slower-paced kind-of-life and I’m all about it.
Southern Farm Co:
Okay, I literally swoon over every piece of clothing this Alabama Farm Wife sells in her farm-inspired shop.
There’s something about this woman’s style that I just love- it’s simple, classic and not your typical hillbilly-type farm gear 😉
Beyond selling amazing clothes and accessories, this woman shares so much of her inspiring farm life on Instagram. This is just one of those feel-good accounts that you have to follow.
Probably a blog + account that everybody’s heard of by now, but I think it’s still worth including on this list because, for me, it’s such a source of joy.
To be honest, if I were half as creative as Joanna Gaines, I’d be content. I’ve been fans of Chip and Joanna since their early Fixer Upper days and I continue to eat up anything and everything these two produce.
I truly admire their strong work ethic, their family-values, their creativity… the list goes on!
If you haven’t already, I definitely recommend you read Capital Gaines; I think it’s beautiful proof of what kind of massive success is possible (even from humble beginnings). And of course, do yourself a favor and try the French Silk Pie that’s part of Joanna’s fabulous cookbook!
The Small Things Blog:
Kate from The Small Things Blog isn’t a farm gal like the other accounts that I’ve mentioned, but she’s southern – and that has to count for something!
I love all of the make-up and hair tutorials that Kate shares. Everything is ‘simple’ and ‘natural-looking’. I have to admit: it’s so refreshing to see looks that are put-together without being over the top.
Even if beauty is not your thing, you’re still going to want to give Kate a follow– she is one of those rare influencers that feels so genuine and down-to-earth. I really can’t get enough from her!
Now it’s your turn! I’d love to hear what social accounts leave you feeling inspired and encouraged. Share your favorites in the comments below.
